Nemo Lighting → Share your Light

Nemo, founded in Milan in 1993 by Franco Cassina, is a reference name that has its roots in a history of innovations that has always inspired Italian design. Owned by Federico Palazzari since 2012, Nemo creates “The Masters” collection, a unique selection of lamps designed by the masters of the twentieth century such as Le Corbusier, Charlotte Perriand, Vico Magistretti, Franco Albini and Kazuhide Takahama. Alongside these projects, Nemo also dedicates itself to the creation of contemporary icons by collaborating with designers including Mario Bellini, Jean Nouvel, Andrea Branzi, Bernhard Osann and Arihiro Miyake.
In 2020, following the acquisition of the historical Turin-based lighting company Ilti Luce, it comes to life Nemo Studio which is committed to the research and development of innovative solutions for architectural lighting design in the museum, retail and outdoor sectors.

We share here some latest stories of Nemo Lighting throughout this year:

On the occasion of Milano Design Week 2021 Nemo presented all new releases 2021, from both decorative and architectural collections at Nemo Gallery. SWAN, Nemo’s latest release, showcased for the first time at Borgonuovo 19 at the beginning of September, an exclusive presentation that celebrated the comeback of Milano Design Week. Borgonuovo 19 is Nemo’s new private gallery, a container for special exhibitions and storytelling projects dedicated to the world of architectural and decorative lighting.

Nemo Studio, commissioned by Velvet Studio for La Pista Restaurant in Turin. Another great project at the top of Lingotto, the former FIAT factory and one of the symbols of Turin industrial soul, opened La Pista, a modern and bright restaurant with a unique view of the city. A delicate and diffused light is one of the key ingredient of the restaurant, distributed on the tables thanks to a customised version of Asteroide. Nemo Studio has designed and manufactured bespoke lightings for all different areas of La Pista Restaurant: borosilicate glass, brass and aluminium elements combined with blown glass spheres and cylinders of different shapes and sizes.

Nemo also launched earlier this year the first-time contemporary design icons, great classics of the XXth Century, special editions by great masters of Design such as Charlotte Perriand, Le Corbusier or Bernhard Osann. Named NEMO Unique only in limited editions, only exclusive editions.

The special feature of the lights by Nemo is that their design is modern and minimalist. In addition, the elegant light dispenser with high functionality and high quality workmanship speaks for itself. Much of the Nemo light is made of blown opal glass, which is provided with only a few simple design ideas. This makes the individual collections very exciting for the commercial sector, such as hotels. But also private rooms can be tastefully illuminated with the Nemo collections.
