M&O Jan ’20

The red thread of Maison&Objet 2020 is “(RE) GENERATION”, with a January edition dedicated to younger generations, who are confronting their expectations for a future planet in crisis on various fronts (from the economy to the environment, identity, and migration).

Therefore our selections were based in sustainability, organic forms, neutral palettes and natural shades. From AYTM a brand that the ambience and the scents are all contributing in creating different moods, to 101 Copenhagen, a passionate brand with materials and refined textures combining design aesthetic with organic, calm color schemes to Rory Dobner an English eccentric artist and a lifestyle brand designing a wondrous world of mischievous animals to True Grace candles, the original scents of English
makers of beautiful products, sustainably and with the finest natural ingredients and carbon neutral factory.

From lighting design we have chosen CTO Lighting an exceptional brand for its quality and design to Tekna’s timeless lighting designs and of course Brokis lights that stand out for the geometric forms that install them with a singular graphic element to achieve a striking contrast with the animate, almost sculptural makeup of the glass.

From patterns we have selected Phillip Jeffries that turns houses into dreams, to Timorous Beasties noted for surreal and provocative textiles and wallpapers, to Limited Edition rugs the 100% Belgian age-old craftsmanship and distinctive designs stand ahead of all textures and patterns.

Other great brands that we have chosen from the fair are the Italian firm Pedrali, a brand that is distinctive for blending all elements of products of industrial design to BottegaNove tiles that transform any areas by creating contemporary scenarios that are in the meantime rich on content and design, soaked in the history of craftsmanship, to Paola Navone new colorful art de la table contrasts of colorful shades that charm up all dinner sets.
Summing up our best experience from this year’s M&O, was the ‘24hour in Paris’ by our favourite designer and innovative brand of all times, which is nobody else than Tom Dixon, where he had decided to do a pop up 24 hour event, that included from breakfast to lunch at the delicious Shabour restaurant by master Assaf Granit to dinner and late drinks at the Grands Boulevards hotel.
A bientôt Paris, we are forever yours!
